A simplified box joint creates a flexible connection between edges.
The laminate was drilled to fit the knots holding the raffia together.
Madagascar raffia is woven then pinned up to keep the weave of the material. The woven strands are then tied together at the ends.
The raffia is loosely tied around the end of the loops to hold the shape of the piece when dismantled.
The laminate pieces can be disassembled for easy storage.
