Working under Art & Assembly for artist Mehdi Dakhli, I fabricated the Muravey Chair.
The final piece is carved Wenge wood and upholstered with wool and leather.

The rough shape was made and Wenge dominos were made in case of any potential blow out of material.
The spine was made as an exact replica as the previous chair.
The head of the chair was attached with dominos and clamping material was removed.
The mortise and tenon joint was made so the grain is strong enough not to split.
The legs were shaped and mounted.
The piece was assembled and sent to the upholsterers after minor tweaks.

The wood was finish sanded to 240 and waxed. the center photo shows the difference in colour before and after.
